Max's 2nd Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated Max's 2nd birthday. He loves the movie Toy Story 3, so we decided to have that as the theme. I attempted to make my own cake, icing bags and all. It turned out pretty well! The writing was kind of scary, but the overall final product was pretty good :) Clint and I found some cowboy hats for the boys and he brought some badges home from work to complete their "Woody" look. He loved opening all of his gifts. He got so many nice things!  Everyone had a lot of fun and it was wonderful being able to spend time with our family.

All Mine!!!

I guess you can have some, Drake.

Listen up, partner, there's a new sheriff in town!

I'm so excited!!

His guitar was an awesome idea! Now he can play like Papa and Uncle Dave.

Saturday, March 19th

Clint, Max and I had an awesome day. It was gorgeous outside! We went to the park and Max was able to play on all of the toys. Whenever one of the kids wanted to play with him, he would say, "Okay, but....Mama, Daddy!" That was his way of letting them know that he was really here with us and he was allowing them to play with him instead. It was cracking us up. We couldn't believe how much he had changed from the previous fall. He was able to climb and get on more toys, and he wanted to try everything on his own. We are so proud of him!

Playing with the "Boys"

Max loves playing with other kids. He calls all kids, boys, no matter if they are girls or not. We are transitioning over to the word kids, lol, but he still does not say girls. He doesn't really know any girls close to his age, so that makes a big difference.
His two favorite boys to play with are my friend Kelly's kids, Cayden and Grady. He has been playing with them his whole life & loves it whenever we can get together. Here are some pictures from a couple weeks ago when they were up from Cinci.

It was hilarious watching all three of them run around the house. They have so much energy; it gave me a glimpse at what my life will be like in a year or so!

Emily and Johanna come to visit!

This post is very late, but I wanted to make sure that I got some pictures up from Emily and Johanna's visit to Ohio. I was very lucky to get an extra day with them due to our lovely Midwest winter weather. A snowstorm was supposed to hit early Thursday morning, so I asked my principal if I could leave Thursday night and if we ended up having school on Friday just take the day off. He agreed and luckily Max and I were able to drive to Toledo Thursday night. Plus, we had a snow day Friday, so everything worked out!! We had so much fun visiting and Max loved his baby. As soon as he saw her he started running and shouting, "Baby, baby!" He gave Johanna some toys and wanted to hold her on his lap. It is so cute how much he remembers.

They both look very serious here.

Poor little Max was still fighting his cold.

Max and Johanna love their grandpa!

On Friday night, we all went to dinner at a place called The Hungry I. It was very good. It was one of the first times in over a year when the whole original Bodenmiller clan was able to get together.

Max couldn't get enough of the ice cream Nana got for him!

I had such a great time holding Johanna. She is so adorable. Her chubby cheeks reminded me of Max when he was a baby. I can't wait to see her again!!

On Saturday, Emily and I met some of her old friends at the Elephant Bar for lunch. It was great to see them and hear about what was going on in their lives. They loved meeting Johanna. She was of course wearing one of her headbands!! I love them-- I might have our new baby wear boy versions....

We were also able to spend Saturday night with family as well. It has been awhile since we've been able to see some of my great Aunts and Uncles as well as cousins. Max loved playing with my cousin's little boy, Carter and my other cousin Kaitlyn's daughter, Grace. Both Johanna and Max couldn't get enough of our 2nd cousin Lisa.

Max and Carter loved their suckers.

Hopefully we will see the Overmans again this summer. We miss them so much!
