This fall Max started tae kwon do. Wow, what a funny experience! He loved it, and did well, but watching him (and the other students) was hilarious. Half of the kids were pretty young 3's, and they had a hard time paying attention. The other kids were around Max's age or older, and they all tried hard, but it was obvious that their sensei had very little patience and got annoyed with some of them pretty quickly. It was very funny watching the teacher try to be patient. At one point Max had to go to the bathroom. The teacher asked him if he could wait until the end of class, so Max said yes. I could tell he really had to go- so after giving him another 5 minutes, I told him to come on so I could take him. His teacher felt bad and told him if he had to go really bad, that was fine. The next class a couple of the other boys said they had to go to the bathroom. The problem was, their parents weren't there. The teacher thought one of them was my kid and just expected me to take him to the bathroom. I was like, well, this isn't my kid, but I can take him. The teacher was so exasperated and asked the little boy, "Where is your parent?" They couldn't find him or her, so the sensei had to take him to the bathroom. This happened each class from that point on, and the teacher was soo annoyed every time. I literally laughed out loud during the class each time this happened. Maybe because the teacher was about 22 and probably isn't around kids much- I just found it very funny. Also, he would get so annoyed with this little boy bc he wouldn't listen and would roll around on the floor the whole time. He was pretty disruptive, and the parents should have taken him out, but it was very comical to watch the teacher try to get him to listen and follow along. Another weekly laughing opportunity for me. Although Max did enjoy this class, we figured we would wait until next fall for him to take it again. It is the same class until he gets older, so we're not sure about signing him up again in the near future. I'm not sure why I found this so funny. I think partly bc it was refreshing to watch someone besides myself or Clint deal with kids that don't listen, lol.
